Club Roy Terms and Conditions

Last updated: October 2026

1. About These Terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Roy the Zebra (www.roythezebra.com) and Club Roy, including our games, stories, printables, lesson materials and subscription services.

Club Roy is operated by Pendigital Limited, trading as Club Roy (“we”, “us” or “our”).

By using our website or subscribing to Club Roy, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the services covered by these terms.

2. Free and Paid Services

Roy the Zebra provides free literacy games and educational resources. Club Roy offers additional content and features through a paid membership.

We may identify which resources are free and which require a subscription. Access to paid resources is subject to an active membership and the applicable subscription terms.

3. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the games, stories, illustrations, animations, audio, videos, printables, lesson materials, text, graphics and other content published on Roy the Zebra and Club Roy are owned by Pendigital Limited or used under licence. They are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. All such rights are reserved.

You must not remove copyright notices or misrepresent the authorship or ownership of our content.

Where you refer to or share our resources, we ask that you acknowledge Roy the Zebra as the source and link to the relevant page on our website.

4. Permitted Use of Resources

You may access, print and download resources for your own personal, family or permitted educational use, subject to these terms and any restrictions shown on the relevant resource or membership page.

Teachers may use resources in their teaching where their use is covered by the applicable membership. A membership does not automatically grant a licence for an entire school, organisation or unrelated group of users.

Unless we give you prior written permission, you must not:

  • Modify, adapt or create derivative versions of our materials for redistribution.
  • Extract or use illustrations, photographs, animations, audio, video or other graphics separately from their accompanying content where doing so is not expressly permitted.
  • Republish our materials on another website, platform, resource library or file-sharing service, or make them available for download elsewhere.
  • Sell, sublicense, redistribute or commercially exploit our materials.
  • Copy, scrape or systematically download our content to reproduce, redistribute or create a competing service.
  • Use our materials in a way that infringes our intellectual property rights or those of our licensors.
  • Attempt to disrupt, compromise or gain unauthorised access to our website, accounts or underlying systems.

These restrictions do not prevent you from linking normally to our public webpages. However, you must not reproduce our content within another website, or use framing or embedding techniques to make it appear as though our content belongs to another site, without our permission.

Unauthorised use may result in the suspension or termination of your membership and may lead to further action where appropriate.

5. Membership Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login details secure.

You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. Please contact us if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

Membership access must be used in accordance with the subscription purchased. You must not share account access beyond the permitted use of your membership or allow others to use your account in breach of these terms.

6. Monthly Subscriptions and Payments

Club Roy memberships are charged monthly at the price shown when you subscribe.

By purchasing a membership, you authorise recurring monthly payments until you cancel. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe, and account and subscription services are managed through Outseta.

Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled before the next renewal. You are responsible for cancelling if you no longer wish to continue your membership.

If a payment fails, we may suspend access to paid content until payment is successfully received.

We may change subscription prices from time to time. If a price change affects your membership, we will provide notice where required by law. Any change will take effect in accordance with the notice provided and applicable consumer law.

7. Cancelling Your Membership

You can cancel your membership through the available account or subscription management facilities, or by contacting us for assistance.

Unless stated otherwise during cancellation, your paid access will normally continue until the end of the period you have already paid for. You will not normally receive a refund for unused time in that period, except where required by law or where we agree otherwise.

Cancelling your membership prevents future renewals. It does not automatically delete your account or any information we are legally required to retain.

8. Cooling-Off Rights and Refunds

If you are a consumer, you may have statutory cancellation rights under UK consumer law.

Where a membership gives you access to digital content immediately, or begins providing a service during a statutory cancellation period, we will seek any consent and acknowledgement required by law. Your rights will depend on the type of service, when access begins and the applicable legal requirements.

Nothing in these terms removes or limits your statutory rights. If you believe you are entitled to a refund or wish to discuss a payment, please contact us.

9. Changes to the Service

We may update, improve, replace or remove games, resources, features or other parts of our service from time to time.

We will aim to keep the service useful and available, but we cannot guarantee that every resource or feature will remain available indefinitely.

10. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to a membership if we reasonably believe that you have breached these terms, misused your account, infringed intellectual property rights or attempted to compromise the security or operation of our services.

Where appropriate, we will explain the reason for suspension or termination and allow an opportunity to resolve the issue.

This section does not affect any rights or remedies you have under applicable law.

11. Availability and Accuracy

We aim to provide accurate, useful and reliable educational resources. However, we cannot guarantee that all content will always be complete, error-free or available without interruption.

You are responsible for deciding whether a resource is suitable for your particular educational or personal needs.

12. Liability

We provide our website and resources with reasonable care and skill.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

If you use our services as a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

Subject to the above, we are not responsible for losses arising from your inability to access the website, interruptions to service, or your use of resources in a way that is not reasonably foreseeable or is contrary to these terms.

Our website may link to third-party websites or use third-party services. These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for the content, availability or practices of third-party websites that we do not control.

14. Privacy and Cookies

Our use of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy, available on our website.

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to support functionality, understand website usage or deliver advertising, as explained in our Privacy Policy and any applicable cookie information.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will be published on our website with the updated date.

Where changes materially affect your rights or obligations, we will provide notice where appropriate or required by law.

Your continued use of our services after updated terms take effect means that the updated terms apply to your future use, subject to any legal requirements.

16. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.

If you are a consumer, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence where applicable law allows.

17. Contact Us
